Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Greening Project to Sivakasi College

Tamil Nadu Forest Department has identified the Centre for Research and PG studies in Botany of Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi to undertake STATUS AND DISTRIBUTION SURVEYS OF SELECTED CRITICALLY ENDANGERED DATA DEFICIENT TAXA IN WILD at Grizzled Giant Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary, Srivilliputhur, under Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Greening Project. Dr. V. Ganesan, Associate Professor and Head, Centre for Research and PG studies in Botany of Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College has been selected as an expert to undertake the aforesaid work. The financial assistance of Rs.3,51,360/. (Three lakhs fifty one thousand three hundred and sixty only) is sanctioned by Tamil Nadu Forest Department to carry out this survey work. Tamil Nadu Forest Department has formulated Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Greening Project which is primarily aimed at conservation of vital biodiversity of the State both inside the protected area as well as reserved forest. The major components of this project are Biodiversity Conservation, Increasing the natural resource base and Institutional Capacity Development.
