Wood Apple prices sky-rocket in Sivakasi

In Sivakasi, the price of one Wood Apple (Vilaam pazham) was Rs.20 to Rs.40 depending on size and quality. This sudden rise in price is due to Navaratri Festival. Most of the items such as flowers, puja materials, coconut, pori and banana selling at Double Prices. With bittering prices and reduced supply, Wood Apple remain out of reach for the common man during Navaratri Festival, in Sivakasi town.
