Pournami Puja Performed at Sivakasi

On 16th March 2014, Sunday, on Full Moon Day, Pournami Poojai was performed in majority of the temples in Sivakasi town. Special pujas were performed on the special occasion of full moon day. Prasadams were distributed to the devotees. Devotees worshiped and offered their prayers by standing in the long queues. Sunday evening was celebrated by lighting huge bonfires as part of the Holi celebration when Sivakasi Marwaris gather near the fire to fill the air with folk songs and dances, near Velayutharastha, Sivakasi. You can see the Moon at daytime from day after tomorrow onwards in Sivakasi, for three to five days.
