TASMAC outlets to be shut for 3 days

All TASMAC liquor outlets and bars attached to them will remain closed for three days from April 22 in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

The liquor outlets and bars will be closed from 10 a.m. on April 22 to midnight of April 24. They would be closed on May 16 when the counting of votes is slated, an official release here said. A training programme for the officials of election reception team was conducted at the Collectorate here on Sunday.

The officials were briefed on Election Commission guidelines to be followed.The officials were directed to function in a neutral manner and initiate appropriate action on poll-related violations. The norms to be followed by them while receiving the electronic voting machines and poll-related documents from zonal officers upon completion of election process were explained. Collector and District Election Officer Darez Ahamed presided over the programme.


They would also be closed on May 16 when the counting of votes is slated.
