Rains lash Sivakasi, cause inconvenience to devotees

Today-s heavy rains disrupted Kayirukuthu festival mood at Sivakasi, forcing devotees run for shelter at different places. The heavy cloudburst for last two days, which began early morning today, continued for hours together, causing extreme inconvenience to the visiting devotees to Sri Arulmighu Badrakaliamman Thirukovil. Today skies bulged with dark clouds and rain lashed Sivakasi town at early morning, afternoon and evening. Sivakasi received good showers from 11:35 a.m. to 11:50 p.m., 03:40 p.m. to 04:30 p.m., 02:20 p.m. to 02:50 p.m.. Todays rain not only chilled Sivakasi grounds but also filled the water tanks of Sivakasians. The drains were overflowed and the roads remained flooded for some hours. Rainy onslaughts leave several roads damaged, in Sivakasi. And there is chance for drizzle / rain in Sivakasi for next one week.
