Vinayakar Chathurthi Celebration

Vinayakar Chathurthi is a spectacular festival, honoring Lord Ganesha. In Sivakasi Ganesh Utsav is celebrated across the town. Rice flakes, bermuda grass, coconut and guava are the most sought after items on Vinakaya Chathurthi. Arugampul garland has already seen a price rise of Rs.5 each but traders say it will return to normal on 18th September 2015. Around 53 vinayaka idols were installed in the key junctions of Sivakasi. Police have given permission for immersion on 20th September 2015, Sunday. The organisers have been sternly told to stick to the routes permitted for the idol procession on the day of immersion.
