On 10th May 2017, Wednesday, Sivakasi receives steady shower for around three hours between 04:45 p.m. to 08:30 p.m.. The town was seen flooded and clogged. Rain accompanied with lightnings and thunders. Heavy rainfall causes power outage and also damages thousands of tvs, fridge, dvd players, routers, ups. Sivakasi receives 13 cm rainfall, which was the highest recorded rainfall in the town, in the last 5 years. Water reservoirs in Sivakasi experienced good influx of water to Chinnakulam and Periyakulam.
