2012 Chithirai Pongal begins with flag hoisting

The 10 day Chithirai Pongal Festival of Sivakasi Sri Badrakaliamman Kovil began on Tuesday (1st May 2012) with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony at 09:00 p.m. Hundreds of devotees witnessed the special pooja performed on the occasion. The highlight of the flag hoisting festival, fireworks display has been performed, at 10:00 p.m.
