Unexpected rain in Sivakasi

There was unexpected spell of rainfall in Sivakasi, on 1st June 2012, Friday. Even though the climate remained very hot, an unexpected heavy wind and then a spell of rainfall for one hour in the evening chilled out Sivakasi. Trees were uprooted and syntax water tank cap were blown away in the strong wind, in Sivakasi. Due to rain, there was power outage for 3-4 hours in sevaral areas of Sivakasi town. However, Thiruthangal the nearby town of Sivakasi, did not receive any rainfall.
