Finally calendar season begins in Sivakasi
With New Year 2013 is fast approaching, calendar and diary printing job is in full swing, in Sivakasi Town. New Year is just two weeks away, and yet all the printing units and allied industries are already seeing Sivakasians, Keralites and other State people lining up outside the offsets, in Sivakasi. All the offsets in Sivakasi are working at full swing in printing, cutting and tin mounting and 10 days before itself few of the printing units stopped getting new orders. A tin mounting company proprietor said sivakasiweekly.com that, during New Year season from mid of November we used to work around the clock, but this year due to power failure for around 12 hours a day, they were unable to keep their delivery commitments and were apprehensive of taking new orders. And the calendar printing job is in full swing for the last one week. Because of the power shedding for long hours in Sivakasi Town, printing orders were getting diverted to Chennai and other States, he added. The reduced power cut for last two days brings some relief for the calendar and diary manufacturers in Sivakasi.
