Maattu Pongal celebrated in Sivakasi

Today, Mattu Pongal was celebrated in Sivakasi with traditional fervour. Livestock such as bulls, bullocks and cows have been worshipped during Maattu Pongal Festival. The horns of these cattle are decorated and painted with colourful paints. Sivakasians offered the livestock with Pongal, Sweets and Bananas. Some Sivakasians to spend leisure time, they visited and make a trip to tourist places. And today morning there was huge crowd in chicken and mutton stalls. Around 100 stalls has been placed in the major streets of the town.
