Lions School Sports Day Celebration

The 45th annual sports meet of The Sivakasi Lions Matriculation Higher Secondary School was held at their Senios Residential School Campus on 13th January 2013, Sunday. Ln.K.Paramanandham, President Lions Club of Sivakasi, light the torch and inaugurated the sports meet. Mr.A.Rajan, BE NIS, Asian Gold Medalist in Athletics presided over the function. The sports meet began with an impressive flag march led by the House Captains of the four houses - Blue, Red, Green and Yellow. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation of students. Students demonstrated their abilities in different sports and fitness activities.

Ln.K.Ambulirajan, Correspondent welcomed the gathering. Sports report presented by Mr.K.Govindraj, Physical Education Teacher. In his address Mr.A.Rajan said that, parents as well as teachers seem to give less importance to sports. This is because parent-s want their children to be a Doctor, IAS, Engineers and CA-s of the world rather than getting in to sports. A sound mind needs sound body and sports can develop one-s all-round persona. To fulfill this, sports should be included in school curriculum, he said. He highlighted in his speech that, to become a sports champion you need to follow 7s - Structure, Strength, Stamina, Speed, Suppleness, Skill and Self. He gave away the prizes. Dr.Aiyavoo T Mony, Principal, delivered vote of thanks.
