Traffic police gear up for Diwali rush

Sivakasi traffic police department has announced some changes in the traffic movement on the occasion of Diwali to ease commuting on the eve of the festival. The proposed traffic diversion starts from 25th October 2013, Friday and continue till Diwali on 2nd December 2013, Saturday. With Diwali drawing closer, almost all the major roads in Sivakasi town are witnessing massive traffic jams. The traffic police have asked for extra force to smoothen the flow and make the roads jam free, near Ambedkar Statue, Bus Stand, Theradi Mukku and other key junctions. There will also be restriction on movement of heavy vehicles in Sivakasi Bazar. Fireworks Goods vehicles and Heavy Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Bazar from 09:00 a.m and 09:30 p.m.. Many barricades has been installed in the major junctions of the town.
