Mary Matha Festival 2014

In connection with the Navanaal Mary Matha Festival, procession has been taken out in Sivakasi, on 9th February 2014, Sunday. Catholic church Bishops started the festival at around 6:30 p.m.. The third day of the Nava Naal Festival started with a Holy Mass. Large numbers of pilgrims gathered on the Sivakasi Velanganni Matha Higher Secondary school premises. The devotees could fulfill their wishes by offering prayers to Mary Matha. The devotees were seen chanting the names of Mary Matha and Jesus and offering vows. Priests offered holy communion to all the devotees who attended the Sivakasi Mary Matha Festival. Thousands of devotees participated in the procession that takes place from Velankanni Matha Higher Secondary School to Shrine. Traffic restrictions and diversions were imposed near Mariamman Temple Junctions and Indian Bakery for the convenience of the pilgrims. Sivakasi Municipality and Police department officials made arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Mary Matha Utsav Procession. Procession of Mary Matha in the four car streets of Sivakasi will take place today night.
