Flower prices skyrocket

Due to Chithirai Vishu Festival, flower prices were skyrocketed in Sivakasi. As per the Sivakasi Flower Market rates, Sevanthi — that would cost Rs.180 on a normal day — now goes for Rs.300 a kg. Meanwhile the rates of roses have also been pushed up. The 120 rupees kilo Rose have jumped over to 200 rupees per kilo. It is expected that flower price will fall back to normal in one or two days.
