Sivakasi Industrial units & shops down shutters

Protesting against the steep hike in the fireworks licence fee for manufacturing explosives and to stop importing cheap Chinese fireworks to India, members of 33 associations in Sivakasi downed their shutters and staged a one-day protest fast, at TANFAMA Centre, today. The usually busy NRKR Road, Vegetable Market, Bus Stand, Thiruthangal Road and Four Car Streets Sivakasi-s wholesale hub for perishable goods and other goods, wore a deserted look, today.
