Awareness rally on eye donation

A rally was organized in Sivakasi town jointly by the Lions Club of Sivakasi Cracker City on 3rd September 2014, Wednesday to mark the 30th national eye donation fortnight with an aim to increase public awareness regarding eye donation. Honourable P.Manivannan, Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivakasi, flagged off the rally from Sivakasi Kamarajar statue, at 10:00 a.m.. Lion Dr.V.K.Kathiravan, Chairman, Sivakasi Municipality, PDG Lion. S.Surendran MJF, Past District Governor (2006-2007), Lion.Dr.J.Ganesh MJF, District Chairperson for Eye Donation (Since 2007), Lion.Dr.N.Dhanasekaran, President (2009-10) were present on the occassion. Students of schools, college and activists of different social organisations took part in this rally which moved around the four car streets of Sivakasi town. They held placards in support of eye donation and also distributed pamphlets to eradicate myths and wrong beliefs related to eye donation.
