Thaipusam Therottam - Chatta Thaer

Today morning, as a part of Thai Poosam Festival, chatta thaer procession was held, in the four car streets of Sivakasi Town. The chatta thaer stands an impressive 25 feet tall, made of pieces of wood and covered with colourful clothes, festoons and flowers. Sivakasi Murugan devotees drawn chariot of Lord Muruga from Agni Vinayakar Kovil to Sivakasi Subramaniaswamy Thirukovil. The priests by then have conducted puja for the Deity, at Murugan Temple. Golden chariot procession will be held today at 08:00 p.m., in the four car streets.
