Thousands witnessed Thaipusam Theppa Thiruvizha

On the occasion of Thaipoosam Festival 2017, Theppa Thiruvizha was held on 10th February 2017, Friday, at Sri Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukovil, for the first time. Thousands of devotees witnessed the Theppa Thiruvizha. Lord Subramaniaswami and his consort Valli Theivanai, deities from the Sri SivaSubramaniaswami temple, were brought in a procession from the temple to the tank of Badrakaliamman Kovil. The float was pulled around with the use of ropes. The brightly decorated float drew large crowds in the evening.The temple wore festive look. Every year Thaipusam Theppa THiruvizha held at Chemtty Theppam from 2015, the float festival held at Badrakaliamman Temple and pulls huge crowd. Now this year it was held at Mariamman Temple New Teppakulam. It is expected that float festival for Thaipusam will be held at Mariamman Temple every year.
