Minister for Dairy Development K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji on Sunday flagged off eight new buses.

The Minister said that besides berths and air-conditioning, the new buses had toilets as an additional facility. The buses would be operated on Sivakasi-Mettupalayam (one service), Sivakasi-Salem (two), Sivakasi-Tiruppur (two), Srivilliputtur-Madurai-Senchottah (one), Sattur-Kovilpatti-Mettupalayam (one), Sattur-Kovilpatti-Coimbatore (one). The Minister said that 35 more buses would be given to the district. He also laid the foundation stone for the new building for office of Regional Transport Office, Sivakasi. The new building would come up at a cost of Rs. 5 crore.
