Heavy rain hits Sivakasi

Thick dark clouds kept hovering over Sivakasi town during evening, bringing down the temperature which had become unbearable during the past one month. Rain lashed Sivakasi town, today, at evening from 04:30 p.m. to 05:40 p.m. Heavy rain accompanied with strong wind and hundreds of lightnings and thunders. The drains were overflowed and the roads remained flooded for some hours. Rainy onslaughts leave several roads damaged, in Sivakasi. Several low-lying areas in the town were inundated after the incessant heavy rain. Rain water harvesting systems, installed in buildings, received copious amount of water. The downpour brought cheers for Sivakasians. Sivakasi motorists were finding it dangerous to drive on the slippery road in the rain. Today many Sivakasians lost control and fell down due to slippery condition of the road caused by rain. For next two days sky will be cloudy with chances of rain with maximum and minimum temperature of 31 and 26 degree celsius. Earlier on 13th September Sivakasi town experienced moderate rain.
