2021 Chithirai Pongal Lite Version

Sivakasi celebrates Chithirai Pongal Lite Version in Sivakasi Arulmighu Sri Badrakaliamman Thirukovil, today. Every year a week before the celebration, numerous shops were placed around the temple. But this year due to COVID second wave and lock down, devotees were not allowed inside temple. Agni Chatti, Paadha Kanikai, muthu poduthal were offered by the devotees to Goddess Badrakali, and placed dolls, agni chatti and ayiram kan paanai near the entrance of the rajagopuram. Due to lockdown Sivakasians not able to celebrate even the lite version of the festival.
