Incessant rain in Sivakasi for 23 hours

There was incessant rain in Sivakasi for 23 hours from 17th December 2023, Sunday, 2 p.m. to 18th December 2023, Monday, 1 p.m.. Most of the towns in Virudhunagar District received incessant rain. District administration declared holiday for schools and colleges on 18th December 2023, Monday, to ensure the safety of students. There was no lightning or thunders during the incessant rain. This was a record incessant rain in Sivakasi for around 23 hours. Shenbaga Vinayakar Temple Teppakulam, Periyakulam the water reservoir of Sivakasi got huge inflow of water and almost 90% filled. As the water channels were blocked in Chinnakulam, it was not fully filled. No one see such incessant rain in Sivakasi, for the past 50 years.
