Chithirai Pongal Therottam 2024

Chithirai Pongal Therottam started on 10th May 2024, Friday, in Sivakasi. Devotees pulled the decorated temple car which carried the idols of presiding deities Goddess Badrakaliamman and Vinayaka. The procession covered the four car streets of Sivakasi town. Enthusiastic devotees, including large number of school and college students, pulled the car through the four Car Streets of Sivakasi town. The decorated small Vinayaka car reached its destination in around one hour. Devotees prepared and offered pongal to the Goddess. Hundreds of people witnessed Therottam Festival in Sivakasi. A huge posse of policemen, assisted by Traffic Constable and volunteers of Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai, regulated the large gathering. A huge crowd witnessed the colourfully decorated car from the top of various buildings. It is expected that Ther will reach its destination by today.
