Virudhunagar District Rapid Chess Championship

Tamil Nadu State Blitz champion P. Maheswaran of Sivakasi won the Virudhunagar District Rapid Chess Championship, organised by Sivakasi Chess Club held at Kamarajar Matric School, on 1st April 2012. He scored seven wins from seven rounds and won with a round to spare. C. Kalidass, also of Sivakasi was the runner up. Dr. Thanasekaran and Mrs. Aruna Devi distributed the prizes.

Kalidass, Paramasivam and Saravanan have been selected to represent the district in the TN State Rapid Chess Championship to be held at Trichy from 6th April. Maheswaran is already seeded for the state championship.

M. Sundar Rajan of Virudhunagar was the chief arbiter for the tournament. Mr. Arasan G. Ramamoorthy, President of Sivakasi Chess Club and Mr.R. VIjayann, Secretary made all arrangements for the tournament.
