Navaratri Golu started

From 3rd October 2024, Thursday, temples across Sivakasi town, including Mariamman Kovil, Murugan Kovil, Kadai Kovil, Shenbaga Vinayakar Kovil, Badrakaliamman Kovil hogged the limelight for the nine-day Navaratri Golu festival, with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm. Kolu display in Sivakasi temples draw huge number of devotees to the temple to see it. Sivakasians in their home arranged golu and displayed theme based dolls, In the set-up, dolls of deities, as well as common folk, are placed on steps. Most of the dolls are passed through generations. Gods and deities such as the different avatars are placed on the highest platform. Then, dolls depicting different forms of life and occupations of people, are placed on the bottom steps. Sivakasians celebrated Golu with piety and devotional songs.
