Panguni Pongal festival begins with Kodiyetram

The 10 day annual Sivakasi Panguni Pongal at Sri Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukovil began on 30th March 2025, Sunday with the traditional Kodiyettram (flag hoisting) ceremony. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple to offer worship on the opening day of the festival. Sivakasi Panguni Pongal and Kayirukuthu festival will be held on 6th and 7th April 2025 respectively. The car festival would be held on 9th April 2025. Temple was decorated with colourful decorative lights, festoons, clothes and flowers. The way leading to Sivakasi Mariamman Temple wore a festive look. A five minutes Fireworks display was arranged. The padha kannikkai toy sellers, balloon, florists and other vendors arranged stalls on either side of the road near Mariamman Temple.
