19-09-2012 19th September 2012 Vinayakar Chathurthi Eve in Sivakasi On the eve of Vinayakar Chaturthi, Sivakasi bazar was abuzz with activity even at the otherwise dull hours at around 3 p.m., yesterday. There was a huge demand for Arugampulu and Wood Apple (Vilaam Pazham). In Sivakasi, one wood apple sold at Rs.10/- and one arugampulu garland was sold at Rs.20/-. During non season times arugampulu garland price ranges from Rs.10/- to Rs.15/-. There was hike in rates of other flowers. Vinayaka idols were kept for sale at Sivakasi Bazar on the eve of Vinayakar Chathurthi. 43 individuals and organisations get police permission for installation of Vinayagar idols and placed it in the major places of the town. The immersion of idols will be held at Jakkammaal Kovil backside, on 21st September 2012, Friday. All idol processions would be taken along the routes taken last year. |
